  • How many days do I need to visit Zion National Park?

Ideally, plan to spend at least 2 to 3 days exploring Zion National Park. This gives you time to hike iconic trails like Angels Landing and The Narrows, enjoy scenic viewpoints along the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive, and still have time to uncover hidden gems most visitors miss, as well as explore the town of Springdale.

If you only have one day in Zion National Park, don’t worry, our Half-Day and Full-Day guided tours help you make the most of your time.

  • What are the best guided hikes in Zion National Park?

Our most popular guided hikes include Angels Landing, The Narrows, and the Zion Half-Day Hiking tour. Whether you want an iconic challenge or a peaceful canyon stroll, our local guides help you discover the best of Zion safely and stress-free.

  • Do I need a permit for Angels Landing?

Yes, all hikers need a permit for Angels Landing.  When you book with Explore Zion Tours, our calendar reflects dates when permits are already secured. If you’ve secured your own permit, our guides are happy to lead your adventure. Just contact us directly with your permit date. Permits are distributed through a lottery system at www.recreation.gov.

  • Are Explore Zion Tours suitable for beginners or families?

Absolutely! We specialize in small-group and private Zion National Park tours, tailoring pace and difficulty to your comfort levels.  Families, first-time hikers, and experienced adventurers are all welcome.  The Angels Landing tour is our most challenging tour, best for those comfortable hiking ~5 miles with steep inclines.

  • When is the best time of year to visit Zion National Park?

Zion is beautiful year-round. Spring and fall offer mild weather and vibrant colors, while summer brings warm days.  Winter offers fewer crowds, and you might get lucky to see a dusting of snow in the canyon. Check out our Season-by-Season Guide.

  • What if the weather is bad on the day of our tour?

Most tours run rain or shine, and a little weather often adds to the adventure! However, your safety is always our top priority. In the rare case that conditions make a tour unsafe, we may adjust the route, offer an alternative hike, or reschedule if necessary. We’ll always communicate clearly and make sure you still have an amazing Zion experience.
