2026 National Park Pass Changes: What You Need to Know Before Your Next Adventure

Planning a trip to a U.S. national park in 2026? You’ll want to read this first! Big changes are coming to the America the Beautiful pass and park entry fees, especially if you’re an international visitor. Don’t worry, we’ve broken it down so you know exactly what to expect, how much it will cost, and how to make the most of your park adventures.

Residency-Based Pricing: U.S. vs. International Visitors

One of the biggest updates is the new pricing system based on residency:

America the Beautiful Annual Pass:

U.S. residents can still get the annual "America the Beautiful" pass for $80.
Non-U.S. residents now pay $250 for an annual pass.

Standard Entry Pass (typically 1-7 days)

National Parks locations also offer the option of standard entry passes, typically valid for 1-7 days and range in price.
New in 2026: Non-U.S. residents, age 16 and older, must pay $100 extra per person at 11 of the most popular national parks, including: Acadia, Bryce, Everglades, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain, Sequoia & Kings, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Zion.

What does this mean for Zion?

U.S. Residents: Private Vehicle $35 (covers all passengers or 4 people if used at pedestrian entrance), good for 7 days or an $80 America the Beautiful Annual Pass.
Non-U.S. Residents: May purchase an America the Beautiful Annual Pass for $250, or they can pay the private vehicle fee of $35 plus $100 for each person 16 and older. Often, the best deal will be to purchase the annual pass, especially if you plan to visit multiple national parks.

General Annual Pass Changes

The beloved America the Beautiful annual pass is getting a 2026 refresh. Digital passes are now fully available, you can buy it online and store it on your phone, or link it to a physical card. If possible it is best practice to purchase a physical card as a majority of that money will stay with that park.

The pass now covers two motorcycles instead of one, which is great if you’re hitting the road on two wheels.

Free Entrance Days are Changing

Free days now apply only to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Some of the traditional days have changed, here is a list of 2026 free days:

February 16: Presidents Day
May 25: Memorial Day
June 14: Flag Day
July 3–5: Independence Day weekend
August 25: 110th Birthday of the National Park Service
September 17: Constitution Day
October 27: Theodore Roosevelt's birthday
November 11: Veterans Day
